6 Easy Ways to Make Your Cat Happy

Do you have a kitty? If so, you’re among the nearly 50 percent of households that have cats. It isn’t hard to see why our feline friends are such popular pets. After all, Fluffy has many charms: she’s cute, clean, lovable, and cuddly, not to mention lots of fun. Cats are also fairly easy to care for: providing your furball with food, water, veterinary care, and a clean litterbox will cover her most essential needs. But if you want to pamper your kitty a bit, read on! Below, a Craig Road, NV veterinarian offers tips on how to make your cat happy.

Kitty Comforts

You’ve likely noticed that our feline friends spend quite a bit of time sleeping. Provide Fluffy with lots of comfy beds to snuggle up in. Pet beds are great, but your furball will probably be just as happy with a soft, folded blanket in a box or wicker basket. We also advise getting Fluffy some kitty furniture, such as a cat tower or pet tent.

Take time to play with your cat every day. Choose playthings that you can control, like laser pointers or wand toys, to really get Fluffy engaged and moving. Even a few minutes of playtime a day will benefit your kitty both mentally and physically.

While we may never know how much language cats actually understand, it’s probably safe to say that when you talk to Fluffy, she knows you’re paying attention to her. Communicating with your kitty will make her feel loved and pampered.

Make sure your furball has lots of toys to play with. Cats love to look out windows, so we also recommend giving Fluffy a comfy window seat with a good view of a yard or street.

Veterinary Care

While visiting us may not exactly be Fluffy’s favorite thing to do, it’s definitely in her own best interest. Your furry friend will both look and feel better with proper veterinary care!

Kitties can be very affectionate little furballs! Make sure to pay your pet lots of attention, and spend quality time with her every day. You’ll be rewarded with snuggles and purrs, which are both precious gifts in our book.
